Piano Lessons: Ages 3+ (Some may do better with music lessons first)
Piano lesson basic description: students will learn to play the piano but in a fun and engaging way that helps each student as an individual. My goal is the teach the student to love playing the piano and to love music. We do this through movement, games, listening, playing, creating, and so much more. I do a lot off of the piano bench to keep younger students engaged and focused! Look at the music lesson info for students who may not be quite ready for piano lessons or who are pretty young.
Voice Lessons: Ages 5+ (younger students may do better with music lessons first)
Voice lessons are great for anyone of any age! For younger students are relaxed and fun! They provide a way to help students learn basic voice techniques but still make it easy on them so they don't hurt their growing vocal chords. Older students will get more training as their vocal chords are more developed. All students will fall in love with singing and learn how to sing in a way that's comfortable for them!
Ukulele Lessons: Age 7+ (this is flexible; students under age 7 may do music lessons first)
Ukulele lessons can be a great choice for students who may not have space to play a bigger instrument/not interested in other instruments but also are not interested in voice lessons. Students don't need to know anything about music to start playing! For students who are new to music, we will learn music theory using a ukulele music theory curriculum. Students who already know some about music or ukulele will work on learning new chords and skills as well as playing different songs and maybe even singing while playing!
Why Ukulele? Ukulele is such a fun instrument!! If your student is younger and interested in guitar or found guitar too hard, ukulele is a great choice! It's smaller so less stretching of your fingers, it uses plastic strings so less finger pain, and has less strings so it's easier to memorize chords!! The other bonus is that it sounds good even when you play it wrong. The sound isn't harsh! Make sure to get a good quality ukulele. You can message Zoe Underhill for recommendations
