


Bio and Resume
Zoe Underhill has been involved in music her whole life. She started taking piano lessons at the age of 3 1/2. She was a part of a community choir organization called the Oberlin Choristers for 13 years! After graduating from Oberlin Choristers, she was awarded the Katherine S. Plank Scholarship for Artistic Excellence. She was also in Oberlin Choristers' World Music Camp for five years and was a counselor there for two years in high school. She's been hired by the Oberlin Choristers for a few different jobs, including accompanying the 2023 Honor Choir and World Music Camp 2023. She was the Volunteer Coordinator/Monitor for World Music Camp in 2023 and 2024. Zoe also did three theater shows in high school, two of which were musicals. In her childhood years, Zoe did tap classes for four years.
She started teaching piano and music lessons at the age of 17 (Summer of 2021). She fell in love with teaching and knew she wanted to go into it professionally. In July 2023, she officially named her music studio, Joyful Noise Music Studio, and has been expanding her studio more since then. She has added voice students as well as summer music camps and music classes that she teaches throughout the year. One of her summer camps in 2024 was highlighted in a local newspaper. She started attending Baldwin Wallace University in the Fall of 2022 to study Music Education after she graduated from being homeschooled her whole life. She was given a scholarship to Baldwin Wallace because of her grades in high school. She's been given lots of amazing opportunities since starting her major program. She has been able to observe and teach in multiple classrooms in the area. She has been able to meet tons of fantastic teachers and peers and she hopes to continue to do so throughout the rest of her program. She's gone to the OMEA conference three times and a piano teacher conference called NCKP​ two times. She has also gone to many other workshops and conferences to further her knowledge in teaching music and to help expand her network of teachers in the area.
When Zoe was younger she was a dedicated swimmer on a swim team for 7 years. She was also active in many homeschooler activities and is still a big fan or organizing. Zoe has helped plan homeschool events for her mom's homeschool group, Christian Homeschool Community Connection, since it started. She is still helping her mom as an assistant administrator. She now helps answer and organize emails, working on building a website, advertising, and accept members to the Facebook group. She loves running businesses and events so much that she signed up to be a makeup artist with a company called Seint Beauty in March 2022. She loves being able to teach others to embrace their beauty and how they can have fun with makeup, color, and design.
